Good news! The tri-county (Berks, Chester, Montgomery) area has been given permission to enter the GREEN phase of re-opening on this Friday, June 26th. Check the state’s website (pa.gov/guides/responding-to-covid-19) for more details about what is and is not allowed in this phase. For example, continued telework is strongly encouraged. Restaurants and bars may open at 50% occupancy. Personal care services (including hair salons and barbershops) may open at 50% occupancy and by appointment only. Masks are required when entering a business. Large gatherings of more than 250 prohibited. Check each county’s website to see how your area is dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic (co.berks.pa.us, chesco.org, montcopa.org).
The Boyertown Community Ambulance Service (boyertownems.org) offers some reminders to help keep you safe as the community re-opens. Remember the 3 Ds to reduce risk: Distance = social distancing recommendation is 6 feet apart, Duration = limit potential exposure time, Density = do not gather in groups in enclosed spaces.
The State Theatre in Boyertown will re-open on Friday, June 26th. Limited seating is available. Online ticket sales are encouraged at www.boyertownstatetheatre.com. The Sunnybrook Drive-In movies are still being offered each weekend with car or lawn seating.
Elmwood Park Zoo is also re-opening on Friday, June 26th. All guests must purchase tickets online prior to visiting. See the zoo’s reopening plan at www.elmwoodparkzoo.org.
Gardens and parks in the area are also re-opening on Friday, June 26th. Stoneleigh: A Natural Garden has certain guidelines in place during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please go to www.stoneleighgarden.org/garden/visit to view these rules before visiting. For example, if the parking lot is full, please come at another time. Restrooms are closed. Please stay six feet away from others.
